**Responsibilities**:
**Primary tasks (60-70%)**

**1.Management and upkeep of CSORN registry at OHRI**
- Perform screening, consenting and enrolling of eligible patients (in-person or through phone calls).
- Upkeep of patient master list and awareness of upcoming follow-ups, deadlines, and surgeries.
- Point of contact for any study-related questions from surgeons and potential/enrolled participants.
- Conduct data entry using Global Research Platform (GRP) software.

**2.Management of surgeon and patient CSORN questionnaire completion**
- Send electronic or paper questionnaires to participants and surgeons around their follow-up time.
- Visit the Civic Campus post office twice/week to pick-up completed patient questionnaires. Input collected data into GRP.
- Serve as the point of contact for any data or participant-related questions from the director of the Canadian Spine Society.
- Fill out research ethics submissions, renewals, financial reports, narrative reports, and administrative tasks for the CSORN project as needed.

**Similar tasks may be assigned for new and upcoming research projects.
- Answer related queries from the Research Ethics Board.
- Write protocols and informed consent forms for new projects when applicable.
- Coordinate necessary contracts between Dr. Phan, OHRI or other parties.

**Secondary tasks (20-30%)**

**4.Submission of manuscripts or abstracts to spine or neurology scientific journals**
Work with researchers to:

- Re-format their manuscript according to journal specifications.

**5.Manuscript and abstract editing**
- Edit of research manuscripts or abstracts according to researcher needs
- Assist with the completion of written drafts

**6.Setup of bi-weekly spine research meeting**
- Book meeting room
- Send invitations and follow-up reminders
- Serve as the point of contact for any questions
- Take down meeting minutes
- Fulfill miscellaneous tasks succeeding research meeting
- Update spine research project summary spreadsheet

**Other tasks (10-20%)**
- Design research posters
- Assist with writing and submission of grants

Distribution of tasks varies from week to week. Training will be provided by trained OHRI/TOH staff for all the aforementioned responsibilities.

**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:

- A secondary diploma
- Training in or equivalent work experience in medical terminology and/or clinical research, such a graduate diploma or certification is considered an asset.
- Experience in using EMR (electronic medical records) software such as EPIC is considered an asset.
- Experience in clinical research or research ethics work is considered an asset.
- Must be proficient in basic computer software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Must be able to quickly learn new custom software tools as required by each project.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to initiate conversations, participate in meetings and group problem-solving.
- Evidence of training in Tri-Council Policy Statement 2 (TCPS2) and/or the international conference of harmonization Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GC) will be considered an asset.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s degree in LifeScience/Biomedical Science/NeuroScience/Nursing/Health Science/related field is preferred.

**Contract Details**:
This is a 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal

**Salary**: Min:$18.786/hr - Max:$23.914/hr
