Our Dairy & Sports Nutrition team, part of our Food & Nutrition business, proudly represents & sells high-quality, functional and nutritional food ingredients, as well as dry blends developed and manufactured at our Oakville, Ontario facility. We are well known in the market across various food industries, notably Dairy and Bakery, for our high-quality blends, and we are recognized as being a major player in the food ingredients space through distribution.

What would be your main responsibilities as a Technical Representative in our Dairy & Sports Nutrition segment?:
Technical support to our commercial team & customers
- Develop deep understanding of key product lines for the segment and general knowledge of our product offering
- Attend and/or actively participate in in-person or Teams based Customer visits/calls with or without our commercial team.
- Assist plant trials & in-process trouble shooting and problem solving on-site at customer
- Showcase technical expertise through specific training with Segment team members, including R&D and Application Specialist(s), as requested/needed
- Actively participate in customer presentations
- Work with account managers to identify opportunities within their customer base
- Be mindful of developing and growing our business and reputation, while supporting customers on a technical basis

Mentorship, Training and Collaboration
- Be a leading source of information for our team when it relates to manufacturing, equipment, process and formulation, in order to optimize ingredient performance in production and throughout the shelf life of the finished product
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to bring technical expertise to discussions, projects and presentations
- Build and maintain a strong relationship and collaboration with the Blending & Innovation Teams
- Stay abreast of market trends and sharing best practices, trends and currents with the team and customers
- Creative thinking - how we can market our ingredients as solutions in market trends
- Attend Key trade shows as requested

**Commercial Expertise**:

- Develop an understanding of key customers and the products that they manufacture within each of the 5 industries within the segment, to optimize support to colleagues
- As directed, build relationships with key suppliers, in alignment with our Product Marketing Team
- Engage in direct sales activities with identified customers, creating a small territory responsibility within the position
- Meet or exceed annual sales and margin objectives for the identified customers
- Sell Quadra’s superior product line to potential customers through routine customer visits, joint calls and participation in industry events
- Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements
- Building and maintaining customer relationships with key decision makers/influencers to obtain repeat and new sales
- Understand and embody Quadra’s sales excellence approach

What experience is required to be successful in this position?
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in food science. A completed master’s degree in food science would be a strong asset
- 10+ years of experience of hands-on dairy and dairy alternative formulation development and processing
- Proven experience in the formulation and production of other beverages and sports nutrition products is an asset
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and equipment; minimum 8-10 years' experience in manufacturing or a similar role in the distribution industry
