Reporting to the Safety Leader, the Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Occupational Safety program by: maintaining and correcting incident and inspection reports in SAFE, report generation and maintenance of the SAFE system, conducting respirator fit testing, maintaining training records and coordination of updates to health and safety related training materials (e.g. orientation, violence prevention), providing administrative support to workplace injury claims to the WSIB, updating OHSW websites (internal and external), supporting reception functions as needed.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensures accurate and complete incident reporting in SAFE. Develops customized reports in SAFE database to obtain required incident stats. Updates forms, picklists, access and alerts in SAFE as the System Administrator; generates reports for corporate year end and ad hoc reporting.-
- Provides administrative and professional support to safety program including: JHSC meeting minute taking and preparation of documents to go to the JHSC and Unions (e.g., notifications); creating presentations, charts, graphs, WHMIS and maintenance of up-to-date Safety data sheets in the electronic database, updating H&S boards, first aid kits; respirator fit testing.-
- Provides disability management support to the RTW Specialists related to WSIB claims.-
- General OHSW program administrative supports: OHSW intranet and/or Wellness website maintenance. Coordinating training/wellness sessions, Enters NVCI training into knowledge now and send reports to CLSs.-
- Provides coverage on reception (breaks, vacation); provides other general admin support (e.g., room bookings, etc.)- NOTE - The above duties are representative but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. A complete job description is available from People Services on Watkins 4._

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 1-3-year Community College, Office Administration Diploma-
- JHSC Certification; OHS Certificate (preferred)-
- Experience in Occupational Health, Safety or Human Resources. (preferred)-
- Intermediate Level Microsoft Office (testing required)-
- Advanced Microsoft Office (preferred)-
- Satisfactory criminal reference check required.-
