**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager of the Children’s Rehabilitation Portfolio of IWK Children’s Health Program (CHP) Surgical, Emergency, and Rehabilitation Services, the Operations Manager will provide collaborative leadership in managing the physical, financial, and human resources consistent with the mission, strategic plan, goals, and objectives of the IWK Health Centre. The Operations Manager will liaise effectively with the medical, administrative, professional, and support staff, to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Children’s Rehabilitation Portfolio, ensuring high-quality accessible patient care services.

**Responsibilities may include**:
Supports effective clinical operations on a day to day basis; participates in program planning, implementation & evaluation of the services; provides direction and support in the development of team and portfolio reports; supports staff time approvals; oversees the Accreditation Process within the service; identifies issues that have potential or actual impact on patient safety and quality care and works in collaboration with quality facilitators to ensure quality improvement and risk management activities are coordinated in an efficient and effective manner; mentors team members by supporting, teaching, role modeling and coaching in an effective manner; provides clinical leadership to staff to resolve complex patient issues; in collaboration with the manager implements the performance evaluation process for the team members; implements Human Resource processes/programs; participates in the planning and active management of operating budgets and the day-to-day operational expenditures of the services; coordinates the purchasing of capital equipment, auxiliary amenities, and supplies to ensure requirements are met; supports the work of OPOR across the portfolio.

**Hours of Work**:
Monday - Friday, 75 hours of work bi-weekly

**Your Qualifications**:

- Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related field is required.
- Current registration with the appropriate licensing body of Nova Scotia is required.
- Master’s level preparation is considered an asset.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a related clinical role required.
- One to three (1-3) years of related leadership experience required.
- Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
- Advanced communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze recent and current trends (wait time, attendance management, workload, SIMS).
- Knowledgeable in the concepts of program-based care and Patient/Family Centered Care.
- Proven experience liaising with community partners.
- Understanding the use of a solution-focused approach to care and in collaboration with colleagues and other partners.
- Ability to modify priorities.
- Ability to explore new ways of delivering services or partnering with others to achieve a particular result.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset.
