**General Overview**

**Core accountabilities**
- Develop delivery strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements to streamline delivery operations
- Review daily scheduling, routing and load planning functions to maximize delivery capacity and productivity of available resources
- Responsible for all home delivery center operations, including recruitment, staffing, home delivery, inventory management, returns processing, merchandise repair, equipment and vehicle maintenance, maintaining health and safety standards and outbound movement of merchandise
- Build and establish performance standards to hold delivery staff accountable for performance and deliverables
- Meet with home delivery staff to identify obstacles and implement continuous improvement initiatives for effective and timely solutions
- Lead all aspects of performance and development of Home Delivery associates to maximize performance, ensure open communication and collaboration, and encourage professional development across departments
- In partnership with senior leadership, develop, communicate, execute and monitor budget KPI’s in support of overall Supply Chain strategy; be accountable for performance against budget, including weekly reporting, identifying obstacles and implementing effective plans in order to meet or exceed KPIs
- Manage carrier claims, in-home damage claims, and chargebacks based on the contractual agreements
- Analyze current delivery coverage and identify areas for improvement, including route coverage, driver performance, cube route reporting, survey and returns reporting
- Act as escalated liaison to resolve local home delivery issues, maintain open and effective communication between stores and delivery staff
- Actively participate in property and product damage control processes and initiatives

**Skills and qualifications**
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent; higher education in related fields a plus. Equipment certification, as needed
- Proven proficiency in English language skills (written and verbal), basic math skills, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, telephone presence, and data entry skills
- Experience managing and developing teams to perform with a high sense of urgency and ability to shift and prioritize work to meet key deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities of the organization
- Advanced knowledge and experience with labor planning, budgeting, productivity and continuous improvement
- Proven working knowledge of various warehouse management systems
- Ability to effectively partner with cross functional groups and Third Party Logistics providers
- Previous home delivery, Distribution Center, or Furniture store experience; previous management experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work a rotating flexible schedule that will have some weekend work times as well as early morning start times
- Forklift drivers certification - preferred
