Quality & Production Controller - Temporary

With manufacturing facilities in Toronto Ontario, Maxxit specializes in design assist, project management, and fabrication of innovative interior and exterior architectural solutions.
**ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY**
**Maxxit is hiring a Temporary Quality and Production Controller who will be responsible for ensuring the seamless coordination of quality control and production activities within our organization. The position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong analytical mindset, and a passion for driving efficiency and quality in the production process. Duration of the temporary assignment will be 4 to 5 months.**
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Perform quality inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet established standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to establish quality control processes and procedures.
- Implement and manage quality control measures and documentation, including data collection and analysis.
- Identify and report on production process inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality and production-related issues.
- Develop and maintain quality control reports and records for management review.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control protocols.
- Initiate work of specific orders at specific stations at the correct time.
- Manage material shortages and ensure material availability at workstations.
- Expedite replacement of defective parts through NCR process.
- Forecast material availability, work with procurement team to ensure coverage at workstations.
- Manage material shortages that have progressed out of workstations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality and production-related issues and provide regular status updates.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., mechanical, or industrial engineering) with relevant work and supervisory experience, or the equivalent of a combination of several years of work experience in production and quality control.
- knowledge of production planning, scheduling, inventory management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Good knowledge of sheet metal production and quality requirements
- Strong personal computer and mainframe skills that include the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software (Excel, Access, Word).
- Ability to supervise, motivate and train staff as well as coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations regarding work operations.
