**About Family Day**:
Family Day Care Services is a non-profit, charitable organization with a long and distinguished history of providing high-quality early learning and child care services to children and families throughout Toronto, York and Peel Regions. As a multi service organization with over 500 employees, Family Day provides a broad range of services to over 65 locations including: 29 Child Care Centres, 49 Before and After Care programs, 136 Licensed Home Child Cares, 9 EarlyON programs, 2 Homework Plus programs, and Special Needs Resourcing for children and their families living in the Greater Toronto Area.

**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Program Manager. The Assistant Program Manager is responsible to work collaboratively and in consultation with the Program Manager (Home Child Care, Special Needs Resourcing and Child Care Services) to ensure high quality services in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Family Day’s Home Child Care program. The Assistant Manager will provide direct supervision for staff working in the Special Needs Resourcing Program and in Child care Services. The Assistant Manager will liaise with the Program Manager to bring forward and address matters concerning the effective and efficient operation of Family Day’s Programs.

**Job Duties**:

- Directly supervise the Special Needs Resource (SNR) program to ensure compliance with the SNR Operating criteria, including conducting case file reviews to ensure best practices. Lead monthly team meetings for the SNR staff
- Work closely with the Program Manager (Home Child Care) to ensure Family Day’s compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and other related legislation within the context of early earning and care
- Monitor and provide problem solving support to the home child care coordinators to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the program including serious occurrences, conflict resolutions and general aspects of customer service delivery
- Work in partnership with the Program Manager, Training to support specific aspects of caregiver training including training plan design, delivery and ongoing monitoring and evaluation
- Actively work to initiate and promote community and key stakeholder involvement to enhance partnerships/innovation in the interest of Family Day
- Build on the positive reputation of Family Day within the context of future directions in the early learning and care sector
- Promote the positive reputation of Family Day within stakeholder communities, both internal and external
- Consistently emphasizes Family Day’s strategic vision and objectives; values and communicates views openly, honestly and directly
- SNR Program annual budget preparation and completion of twice annual Year to Date Statistics
- Participate in community tables and meetings as directed by the Program Manager
- Attend home and centre visits as required
- Accomplish other duties as required

Education and Experience Required
- BA Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Must be registered and a member in good standing with the CECE
- Experience working with licensed home child care
- Understanding of the Child Care and Early Years CCEYA and Ministry requirements that influence the business of early learning and care
- A strategic thinker with the ability to conceptualize and think through multi-faceted problems to be able to take action early and decisively
- Strong knowledge of children with special needs screening and assessment tools
- Well-developed communication skills (both oral and written), tact, diplomacy and good judgment are essential
- A team-player and team-builder that will be committed to assisting the Program Manager to execute the strategic plan initiatives
- Analytical skills to analyze information, anticipate problems, opportunities, create and evaluate alternative solutions and make appropriate decisions/recommendations
- Demonstrated commitment to social inclusion and cross cultural communication
- Car required together with current license and vehicle liability insurance
