What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Control Optimization, Analytics and Insights, the position will be responsible for leading a centralized team with a mandate to provide regulatory and operational support to all of Business Controls. To direct, allocate resources and have overall responsibility and accountability for the execution and delivery of medium to large/complex business/technology changes for processes, projects or programs that impact multiple operational groups (e.g. Risk Insights & Monitoring, Regulatory Risk Services) within Business Controls.

How you’ll succeed
- Relationship Management - Lead and direct the execution of projects and programs to drive operational excellence, to support the delivery of RD testing programs and process solutions aligned to Business Control’s strategic business objectives. Lead the development of options and proposals for projects/process solutions related to operational improvements, customer satisfaction improvements and shareholder value improvements; make recommendations regarding impact, effectiveness and feasibility
- Business Effectiveness - Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships across multiple stakeholder groups and business partners to achieve alignment sufficient to effectively deliver and execute on key strategic programs/initiatives. Frequent interaction and partnering with Governance & Controls team within Business Controls, various Compliance groups (CIBC Wealth Management Compliance, CIBC Enterprise-Wide Compliance, CIBC Retail Compliance) and Technology to understand regulatory and operational requirements and ensure programs/ initiatives are aligned with business objectives
- People Management - Recruit, attract and retain high performing, high potential transformational resources. Identify rising leaders and implement development strategies to broker experiences and champion careers to capitalize on employees’ opportunities for progression. Employ workforce management processes to identify resource capacity across skills and capabilities, forecasting resource availability and shortage against demand, with corrective resource alignment to ensure projects are appropriately staffed to achieve business partner objectives
- Communication - Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, processes, and technology solutions to others with different disciplinary backgrounds. Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
