**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in procurement process to hire consultants and contractors which include Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Tender preparation
- Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) drawing review during design phase as will as shop drawing review during the construction phase
- Assist in the preparation of tender bid process
- Schedule, chair and prepare minutes of design and construction meetings with consultants and contractors
- Attend bi-weekly site meetings
- Assist the Project Manager with project contract administration which include - but are not limited to - RFP evaluations, contract preparation, meeting minutes, shop drawing flow, request for information, proposed changes, supplemental instructions, change orders, progress draws, field reviews, deficiency reviews, close outs and sign-off letter
- Assist in ensuring project requirements are met, including site visits, cost monitoring, project closeout and final one-year warranty review
- Develop strong relationships with project management team to ensure accurate project files are maintained
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, master project schedules, plans and reports
- Co-ordinate project activities with the City’s Planning & Building Department, governing bodies, engineers, architects, and other consultants
- Liaise with multiple City Departments
**Requirements**:
Degree or Diploma in architecture, construction management, engineering technology (ACET) or similar, with a demonstrated project experience would be considered an asset.Excellent oral and written communication and analytical and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively as a member of the contracts team and build effective relationships with internal and external customers. Strong understanding of building drawings and specifications. Experience with CCDC contracts and Supplementary Conditions would be a strong asset. A solid understanding of all construction trades, safety, and construction techniques. Knowledge of using AutoCAD would be a strong asset.Knowledge of Occupation Health and Safety. Strong understanding of the Project Management process PMP designation is considered an asset. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam. Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with client departments, and different teams within the organization.
A valid (G) driver’s licence is required with an acceptable driver’s abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).
