**What you will be doing**
- Responsible for maximizing the overall production and hatchability of a quality product.
- Using production and hatchability parameters, identify trends and investigate issues or quality complaints on a timely basis. Identify areas for improvement and recommend a course of action, completing the necessary follow up to ensure that the issue is effectively resolved.
- Manage reporting systems to track performance to planned goals & objectives, completing all paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion. Report on variances to weekly plan and impact report.
- Fulfill the requirements of the HACCP program, animal welfare program, and QA program, as well as any regulatory policy as required.
- Works closely with Manager, Hatchery Supply and Demand to plan to produce and confirm the egg and chick requirements and address any quality issues.
- Plan egg sets based on specifications provided by Manager, Hatchery Supply and Demand.
- Perform or facilitate process to maximize performance of incubation equipment to produce quality chicks.
- Approve payroll weekly monitoring efficient usage of labor.
- Authorize payment of hatchery costs including credits for performance related concerns.
- Attending approved industry regulatory, poultry health and technical meetings to keep updated on current information.
- Address facility after hours and on weekends as required to answer to alarms (possible rotation)

**What you will bring**
- Minimum five years of food manufacturing experience required, including a minimum of three years in a Supervisory/Management role;
- Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
- Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
- Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrated success in building strong, collaborative teams, setting stretch objectives, and holding people accountable for commitments with a track record of delivery favorable results;
- Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
- Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
- Ability to understand and implement the incubation program with attention to detail. (Timing, coordination of moving product within facility, setting, incubator and hatcher management, transfer procedure, take off and hatch procedures) including record requirements.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office). Ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Post Secondary Diploma in a related field required. A Bachelor of Science degree in food or animal science is an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license required.
