Job Summary:
**Legal Assistant Position**

We are a boutique litigation firm located in the financial district of Toronto. We are seeking a full-time legal assistant for a senior partner of the firm.

Responsibilities include:

- Preparing correspondence, court documents including motion records etc.
- Arranging issuance, service and filing of court documents
- Knowledge of online court filing portal and CaseLines (Case Centre) is important
- Arranging discoveries, mediations, motions and other appointments
- Thorough knowledge required of PCLaw/LEAP including preparation of accounts, maintaining client ledgers and running reports and billings
- Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system, as well as providing appropriate reminders
- Other duties as assigned

Core Skills & Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in civil litigation. Commercial litigation and Class Action experience is an asset
- Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Solid computer and typing skills; proficiency in MS Office
- Organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy when completing tasks
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to be resourceful
- Being able to work within tight timelines to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) for interacting with clients, court officials and others
- Being proactive and taking initiative in anticipation of next steps

Our boutique law firm has an emphasis on litigation, including class actions, commercial litigation, estate litigation, real estate litigation, and civil fraud claims except matrimonial. The nature and variety of the case load makes for an interesting and challenging opportunity. Salary based on experience.

The expected start date is flexible and benefits are negotiable.
