**About Us**:
The mission of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is to foster and enhance best practices in teaching and learning at Western University. To achieve its mission, the Centre utilizes an evidence-based approach to create and deliver programs that support the teaching and learning activities of faculty members, librarians and archivists, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students.

**Responsibilities**:
TATP Instructors are graduate students who are passionate about student-centered teaching and are eager to have an impact on the culture of teaching and learning at Western. The TATP Instructor will be responsible for the delivery of assigned Centre for Teaching and Learning programming, including the Teaching Assistant Training Program. The TATP Instructor will lead a variety of sessions that focus on teaching in the intercultural classroom, providing students with feedback, designing effective lectures, grading best practices, and facilitating labs and classroom discussions. The TATP Instructor will also mentor program participants during small group microteaching sessions. Most TATP Instructors work approximately 60 hours per year, but the number of hours will vary depending on participant enrollment.

- Eligibility Requirement:
- Must be a graduate student at Western, and expect to retain graduate student status for the duration of this appointment.

**Experience**:
- Two years of relevant teaching or instructing experience
- Teaching Assistant experience preferred

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Teaching skills, including clear and engaging communication, expertise in active learning, and ability to engage diverse learners in thoughtful discussions
- Facilitation skills that promote deep learning through student participation and psychological safety
- Mentorship skills, including ability to provide meaningful feedback, guidance, and support to peers
- Teamwork skills, including ability to collaborate and work as a supportive member of an interdisciplinary teaching team
- Technical skills, including proficiency with OWL and Microsoft Office Suite
- Participation in CTL programming or equivalent is an advantage (e.g., TATP, SGPS 9500, ATP, TCC)
- Knowledge of intercultural fluency, anti-oppressive practice, and/or EDI in teaching and learning is an asset
