**POSITION OVERVIEW**

**What You’ll Do**: As the Log Delivery Supervisor, you will work closely with the delivery team to ensure on-time, on-forecast delivery of logs to internal WFP sawmills and points of sale. Reporting to the Log Allocation & Distribution Manager, your objective will be to Define a Higher Standard in deliveries and cost efficiency. This position is also responsible for the organization of all barge operations, including: assisting with the purchase and delivery of boom gear, the purchase and recycling of boomsticks, and ensuring that camps have sufficient packaging material.

**Work Environment**: We are currently working in a hybrid work environment. Expectations for the time being are that this role will be a mix of working from home and work from office with proper safety plans in place.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Core Responsibilities**
- Dispatch all log barging that is within the responsibility of the Log Allocation & Deliveries group;
- Work with Timberlands operations to ensure on-time and on-forecast delivery of logs to barge tie ups to facilitate barge operations;
- Oversee contract operations at the Fibre Supply dryland
- Coordinate and assist with operations at the Fibre Supply barge sorting facility
- Manage environmental requirements of all Fibre Supply log handling tenures;
- Ensure suppliers are working consistent with any applicable contracts or terms;
- Identify system improvements that will facilitate inventory transparency throughout the supply chain and operational processes;
- Provide reporting on log movements as requested;
- Ensure that both Timberlands & Manufacturing processes are consistent with established SOPs;
- Ensure boom gear purchases/deliveries are consistent with contractual terms and SOPs;
- Inspect boom sticks and gear, and write-up boom gear purchases and sales contracts/invoices;
- Supervise external stick depots sites for safety, cost management and quality of workmanship; and
- Manage age of inventory in storage consistent with SOPs to avoid log degradation.

**Safety & Environmental Performance**
- Demonstrate safety performance by ensuring adherence to company safety processes and procedures; and
- Demonstrate safety leadership within Western’s marine logistics supply chain by creating a safety-oriented community with the external suppliers that support Western’s supply chain.

**Financial Performance**
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement lowest cost options for log delivery, boomstick processing and boom gear purchase/delivery.

**Leadership**
- Promote the principles of LEAN log handling; and
- Provide quality control leadership of Western’s boom gear and sticks.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- 10+ years of experience in the forest industry;
- A diploma, certificate or degree in a forestry related program is considered an asset; and
- Experience with marine logistics.

**Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies**
- Strong collaboration skills and excellent communication skills;
- Working knowledge of 3Log Log Inventory Management System (LIMS);
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite;
- A strong understanding of log distribution including log towing, barging and booming;
- A strong understanding of log booming practices and dryland sort processes
- Knowledge of coastal harvesting & log handling practices;
- Knowledge of log sorting practices and quality control;
- Knowledge of lumber manufacturing and markets;
- Understanding of lean operations management; and
- Personal drive and commitment to Western’s values.
