HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week
- Association office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Mon-Fri. Typical work week hours may fluctuate depending on the position functions, employee needs to be flexible to meet the demands of the position. Occasional attendance at various meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Flexible Work Arrangements available including time divided between in office, evening and weekend meetings/events, and work from home.

PAY RATE: The Association provides competitive compensation and benefits

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Grade 12 diploma; Diploma or Certificate from a technical Institute or post-secondary degree is preferred but a combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Relevant discipline such as law, criminology, journalism, or business administration is considered an asset.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Scope**

One of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba’s core roles is to review and investigate complaints against professional engineers and geoscientists. It is the duty of the Investigations Committee of the Association to oversee reviews and investigations of complaints to determine the next appropriate step in the disciplinary process. The Investigator supports the Investigation Committee in their role, by researching information, gathering documentation, interviewing people, and summarizing this information into reports.

**Responsibilities**
- Arrange for and conduct detailed, in-depth interviews and investigations
- Research records and obtain, analyse, and appraise evidentiary data and documenting relevant material found
- Investigate by obtaining statements of fact from complainants, professionals, and witnesses
- Review facts and case law to develop recommendations
- Create briefs, reports, and other written materials relative to the investigation
- Prepare, send, and track official correspondence
- Document files accurately with file activity and all information gathered
- Ensure all protocols and guidelines are followed
- Provide oral reports to the Investigation Committee
- Attend occasional site visits
- Assist the Investigation Committee in identifying potential policy or legal issues
- Assist legal counsel in the prosecution of matters that have been referred to the Discipline Committee
- Provide secretarial support and assistance to the committees that are assigned to the position including setting up meetings

Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to:

- Photocopying, scanning and faxing
- Drafting letters and memos
- Collecting, sorting and distributing mail
- Filing hard copy and electronic documents
- Organize documents and reports within the department
- Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.

**Physical Requirements**
- Standing and walking for limited periods of time.
- Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Talking on the telephone for limited periods of time.
- Extensive keyboarding and computer use; eye strain for limited periods of time (related to computer use).
- Can perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

**Good Character**
