**Position: Community Recreation/Leisure Summer Student (on-site)**

**Contract Length: 16 weeks.**

**Pay: $18/hour**

**Working hours: Monday - Friday, 9am -4pm**

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs that address the needs and interests of the people supported, in collaboration with the Support Professionals and Program Manager.
- Plan and execute engaging group and one-on-one activities tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Foster social interaction and inclusion among residents, encouraging participation and building confidence.
- Document attendance, participation, reactions, and progress to ensure individualized care and support.
- Engage people supported in relaxation techniques, exercise routines, and other recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and organizing documents.
- Work in a position of trust with the people supported.
- Assist with Ad hoc projects as and when required.

**Requirements and skills**
- Post secondary education in Recreation, Leisure Studies, CYW or equivalent is required.
- Have the ability to work in a team or in an independent environment.
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment.
- Meet all requirements set out under the Canada Summer Jobs Program
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the vulnerable population.
- Valid G driver's license.
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector or be willing to obtain one.

**Bona Fide Requirements**:

- The ability to engage in all aspects of Safe Management and valid First Aid/CPR Certified.
- A valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, reliable vehicle and insurable under the Agency Policies.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations through approved QR Code
