**SUMMER STUDENT - Administrative Assistant 2024**:
**Period: June 17, 2024 - August 25, 2024**
**Number of positions: 1**
**Hours/week: 30 hours per week**
**Wage: $17.50 per hour**

The Summer Student Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support and assist with various functions in any of the following: HR, IT and/or scheduling departments. Some of the duties may include but are not limited to:

- Support new hire orientations and any tasks required to bring a new employee into the agency.
- Administration of any records including: employee, agency, policies, etc.
- Assist in development of report(s) to share with internal and external partners.
- Ensure accuracy in all documentations and deliverables.
- Perform examination and document the redundant IT/AV equipment to determine future use.
- Support team by planning and coordinating day to day activities and provide any additional support.
- All other admin support as required such as ad-hoc reporting, photocopying, filing, booking meeting rooms, etc.
- Works within and nurtures a team environment as well as working independently.

The summer student will work in a manner which effectively models and reinforces RYGIEL’s established Vision, Mission, Values, attitudes and standards of support.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Current Criminal Reference Check - vulnerable sector
- Currently a full time student in a relevant post-secondary education (University or Community College) and/or returning to full time school in the fall of 2024
- Meets the eligibility criteria to qualify for wage subsidy with the Canada Summer Jobs program for the 2024 year
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom and PC troubleshooting
- IT knowledge and/or education in hardware and equipment is an asset
- Networking experience and knowledge of various assistive devices is an asset
- Ongoing commitment to and participation in continuous learning
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and availability of a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage is an asset

**JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES**:
Interpersonal Communication
- Maintaining constructive, open, honest, two-way communication with the individuals being supported, families, support staff, management and other team members
- Demonstrated oral and written English language proficiency appropriate to the language requirements of the position and specific to the individuals being supported. Fluency in French is an asset.
- Organizes and completes tasks independently under the supervision of the designated department manager

Problem Solving/Decision Making
- Systematically seeking alternative solutions to identify or anticipate problems, and to respond to emerging opportunities or needs
- Making appropriate decisions regarding actions to be taken in consultation with other team members

Availability
- Monday to Friday - day shift at the specific, assigned work site (this is not a remote position)
