About the Role

We are looking for a Manager, Master Data Management (MDM) to join our Data Science team. The Manager, MDM will develop and deploy standard processes and governance rules to source, collect, and maintain business data. The Manager MDM will work in partnership with the business and Information Technology (IT) functions to ensure the quality, consistency, and accessibility of all business data.

In this role, you will leverage your 7+ years of experience working in data quality, data management and governance to lead the OCS’s data modernization & transformation strategy. As a Senior Manager, MDM, you will provide product development leadership for the data initiatives and data product expertise. Additionally, you will be responsible to lead the execution of deliverables and coordinate the feature development activities of the Enterprise Data team and internal stakeholders.

About Your Day
- Deliver and optimize the value of the Master Data products
- Lead a stream of development, sustainment, or fulfillment in support of multiple master data products
- Define and communicate the product vision, provide clear direction to the development team and monitor analysis and recommendation of choices based on the business strategy, and customer needs
- Establish, prioritize, and communicate the product backlog to stakeholders
- Establish metrics to monitor adoption and measure benefits of MDM data products
- Identify Minimal Viable Product (MVP) approach and release cycle with scalable product development
- Lead end-to-end technical development and deployment of MDM programs, including solution architecture, technology selection, MDM strategy development, road-mapping, costing, and implementation
- Lead senior business and technical stakeholder engagement, communications, strategizing, and approval requests for MDM programs and their operationalization
- Write required MDM program artifacts, including strategy and implementation recommendations, processes, and policies
- Responsible for oversight of strategic delivery of data enablement initiatives
- Guide business units on data governance concepts to responsibly execute data governance, navigate the complex data landscape advocating for accountability, ethical use and transparency in all initiatives
- Develop and maintain data cataloging including metadata, data curation, knowledge management and a "data marketplace" to enable ease of understanding of data assets

About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and/or combination of education and experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics is an asset
- 7+ years of progressive experience working in data quality, data management, and governance space specially in the Azure environment with 3+ years of managing and leading a team of data stewards and/or MDM analysts
- Consulting background is an asset
- Experience with Python, Azure Data Factory, Advanced Complex SQL Query
- Experience with leading edge industry tools enabling data stewardship and data cataloging is preferred
- Prior experience on MDM / data standardization and consolidation initiatives is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Cloud-based capabilities and platforms, with experience in Azure an asset
- Must have a technical ability and be able to lead data integration, data modeling, MDM workflow, etc.
- Hands-On experience of Kanban and Agile work environment
- Advanced SQL / SQL query skills and Python skills is a must
- Proven track record with JSON, XML, and Databricks Parquet data structures and transformations
- Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing Data Governance, Data Policy, and Data Stewardship
- Demonstrated capability of enabling practical and value driven Master Data Management program in working with Modern Data Platform and Data Engineering.
- Expert communication skills (verbal and written), ability to communicate progress on initiatives in leadership forums
- Strong understanding of records and information management and data security and privacy concept
- Expertise with Data Management, Data Architecture and Big data technologies is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Purview and Informatica is an asset
