The State Group is seeking a Safety Coordinator based in Oakville, Ontario. **This position is located at the Ford Manufacturing Facility in Oakville, ON. Pay is hourly with shift premium and will be commensurate with experience.**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Represent the General / Prime Contractor’s H&S program and accountabilities for contractors in the workplace.
- Be part of a team of 10 health and safety field advisors.
- Participate in H&S contractor safety meetings and Worker Trades Committee meetings.
- Liaison with customers, contractors, and government agencies.
- Review contractor pre-hazard assessment plans.
- Collect information and report key performance indicators to project leaders.
- Review incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct site inspections and communicate mitigation requirements.
- Prepare and communicate H&S safety bulletins.
- Enforce H&S compliance for the workplace in accordance with the OHSA and the owner’s regulations/requirements.

**WHAT YOU NEED**
- Knowledge of Ontario Construction Regulations.
- 3-5+ years’ experience as a construction H&S manager or lead coordinator.
- NCSO, H&S Gold Seal, or CRSP designations are assets.
- Experience around demolition and heavy equipment.
- Working experience with electrical (Z-462) and energy isolation H&S.
- Knowledgeable of cranes, hoisting and rigging, steel erection, and hot work.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene best practices.
- Must be able to problem solve and advise ensuring compliance with the OHSA Construction Regulations and Industrial Establishments.
- “Working at Heights”, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry Awareness, and Elevated Work Platform training and experience are assets.
