Job opportunity: Assistant Principal - HA Kostash School - Smoky Lake

Aspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities.

H.A. Kostash School, located in the Town of Smoky Lake, provides educational programming to approximately 315 students from Early Learning to Grade 12. Our inclusive environment provides opportunities in which each student can grow academically, socially and emotionally. The town of Smoky Lake, located approximately 115 kilometers east of Edmonton, is close to many lakes and other recreational opportunities.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Principal for HA Kostash School in Smoky Lake.

- Have the ability to create a culture of high expectations for students and staff:

- Have demonstrated success in promoting student engagement and capturing student voice;
- Have experience working with First Nations, Métis and Inuit students;
- Have knowledge and experience working with systemic literacy programs;
- Have knowledge of inclusive education;
- Have a keen interest in fine arts programming;
- Actively embody the seven dimensions of the Principal Quality Standards;
- Integrate effective use of technology into teaching, learning and leadership;
- Promote and initiate global citizenship and service learning projects.

This position will commence with the 2023-2024 school year.
