**Job Summary**

**What is the Opportunity?**

As a Disability Claims Consultant, you will be responsible for partnering with the Individual Disability Leadership team to deliver mentoring and technical support to new and existing employees with respect to claims adjudication processes and procedures.

**What will you do?**
- Through coaching and mentoring, we ensure the responsible and effective management of disability claims, utilizing of multidisciplinary claim management model
- Provide strong and effective leadership in delivery of superior claim management practices which balance client first, fiscal prudence and risk tolerance objectives.
- Assess, research and analyze numerous disability contracts and guide DCA’s by documenting appropriate next steps while ensuring the adjudication process is effectively applied and ensure professional communication by the DCS of outcomes to clients.
- Lead and participate in projects and initiatives within and across business units.

**What will you need to succeed?**
- Recent Life and Health Claims (Individual Disability) experience
- Post-secondary, college or university degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of Disability/Life experience in roles of increasing responsibility
- Project and/or process improvement work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Fineos, and other legacy systems within RBC Insurance including RBC Connect
- High degree of customer service skills and experience
- Proven leadership, conflict resolution, analytical and decision making skills, demonstrated ability to effectively deal with clients in a professional manner and with great client experience
- Minimum of 3 industry courses completed, one industry designation preferred (e.g. ALHC, FLMI)

- Strong analytical, decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to effectively manage change
- Claims training and/or facilitation experience
