The Ministry of Agriculture and Food’s Food and Beverage Branch leads market and business development activities for farmers, food and beverage processors and Indigenous communities as well as key initiatives such as Feed BC, Buy BC, and the BC Food Hub Network. The Branch works in partnership across regional stakeholders, industry, and levels of government to enhance the food and beverage sector’s capacity, inclusivity, and competitiveness, grow provincial food system resilience, and support current and next generation entrepreneurs. The Branch focuses research and program development in partnership with government, industry, supply chain partners, academic sectors, and other stakeholders to provide timely advice for the Ministry and support to the sector with respect to emerging trends and issues affecting agriculture and food and beverage processing in B.C.

Working in the Food Hub team to support the development of the BC Food Hub Network, the Agri-Innovation Analyst role leads program development and cross-branch projects, analyzes and evaluates program performance, manages contracts, supports and manages outreach, consultation and the development of partnerships, and prepares reports and briefing materials. The role is critical to providing strategic analysis, research and recommendations for the development and improvement of the BC Food Hub Network program, toward contributing to building food and beverage processing capacity and innovation to serve the regional and sector diversity of the province.

Education and Experience: (resumes will be screened on the following minimum essential education and experience criteria)
- Degree in a related discipline (business administration, public administration, economics, agriculture or similar field) and one year of related work experience; an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
- Related experience includes:

- Experience independently leading or managing major projects or project components
- Experience conducting research and analysis, including reviewing current issues, initiatives and trends, evaluating information and providing advice to management/executives
- Experience preparing a variety of written materials, including briefing notes, presentations, discussion and position papers, and summary reports
- Experience in program evaluation, including, but not limited to designing surveys, collecting and managing data, comparing program results against program targets, suggesting evidence-based changes to program activities
- Experience in government contract management
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience managing projects in the agriculture/agri-foods industry
