**Estimator/ Surveyor**

**Summary**

**Centura Building Systems** is a leading contractor located in Delta BC, specializing in all phases of wall and ceiling construction including: drywall, steel stud, panels and complete wall systems. Projects include a combination of commercial and residential buildings, where over the past 35 years our team of professionals have developed an excellent reputation for providing high quality services, products and workmanship throughout Western Canada.

**About the Job/Responsibilities**
- Performs accurate, thorough and timely estimates of costs of materials, labor, and equipment for projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications. Accurately assesses and plans takeoff workload.
- Obtains clarification on plans and specifications from architects and engineers, and collaborates with other consultants when necessary.
- Assist the project management team in soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and vendor pricing input.
- Develops unit costs accurately.
- Understands and evaluates problems, and identifies appropriate solutions.
- Develops knowledge in building designs, systems, and construction materials through available resources and uses this knowledge in guiding the owner to a viable project.
- Proficient in all computer software programs used in pre-construction.
- Attends project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.
- Manages multiple projects concurrently with ability to multitask.

**About You/Requirements**:

- Completed post-secondary education in construction management, estimating, or engineering
- You are confident in your ability to work with a team to complete estimates, quantity takeoffs, and budgets, while
- Strong computer skills including experience using estimating software, word processing, spreadsheets, bid management, online plan rooms and company communication tools.
- Ability to understand the scope of the project and assess construction documents for completeness to catch issues early on.
- Superior verbal & written communication skills are vital.
