Purchasing & Shipping Clerk

Bolton, Canada Northeast Engineering & Development Ltd. Full time

We are small business searching for someone to fill a multi-faceted role within our company. The roles would be primary purchaser, shipping & receiving, quoting customers on basic replacement parts and some reception work.

On the purchasing side, duties will include:

- Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers and prepare purchase orders
- Finding new suppliers for previously unpurchased parts
- Monitoring inventory and writing orders to refill stock.
- Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely.
- Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed deliveries and other problems
- Updating all records of purchased products and keeping necessary paperwork organized.

On the shipping / receiving side, duties will include:

- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
- Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
- Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas or fulfill customer's orers
- Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems

On the quoting side, duties will include:

- Providing quotes and lead times to customers for their requests
- Updating parts price lists
- Inspecting purchase orders received from customers to ensure accuracy

On the reception side, duties will include:

- Answering and directing phone calls to other staff
- Take messages
- Direct visitors to the appropriate staff
- High school diploma.
- Critical thinking
- Strong attention to detail
- Well organized
- Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience with purchasing software an asset
- Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge also an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
