Process Operator

Summary

The incumbent is accountable for executing operating steps on batches of products utilizing the proper equipment and following instructions defined in applicable safety policies, procedures and batch records.

Shift work and some overtime will be required.

**Responsibilities**:
Following procedures in operation of process equipment. Common tasks would include monitoring process and equipment to ensure both are within acceptable parameters and proper flow of product. Must report excursion of process of cGMP parameters/guidelines. Perform cleaning of room, equipment and general area as per respective procedures. Works with all departments at the Brandon site including Administration, Quality Control, Technical Services, Quality Operations and Engineering and Maintenance. When necessary, trains new employees in all areas of the job; supervises seasonal staff in the duties. Monitor operating parameters and physical attributes of product/process during each manufacturing step. Communicate process deviations immediately and participate in troubleshooting with other team members.

Performs a variety of calculations and measurements, including visual, to ensure all aspects of the process are within parameters. Works within GMP guidelines including; recording of all pertinent information on batch records, cleanliness of area and maintenance of process equipment. Applies safety policies and GMP knowledge in daily operations involving self and other team members. Performs routine preventive maintenance, minor repairs and basic troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment and instruments.

Participates on different committees and teams at Pfizer Brandon for continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor/Manager. Exhibits Pfizer values and works in a team environment to accomplish individual/team goals in the manufacture of products.

Position Requirements
- Minimum secondary education preferred
- On-going work related training (i.e. WHIMS, GMP, Procedures, etc.)
- Computer knowledge and skills are considered an advantage
- Some mechanical aptitude is an asset

L’opérateur aux procédés est chargé de l’exécution et de la tenue des processus de production. Il applique les politiques de sécurité et ses connaissances des bonnes pratiques de fabrication dans le cadre des opérations quotidiennes qu’il exécute lui-même ou qui sont exécutées par d’autres membres de l’équipe.

Le titulaire du poste doit traiter des lots de produits en utilisant l’équipement approprié et en respectant les instructions énoncées dans les politiques de sécurité, les procédures et les registres de fabrication applicables.

Il lui sera demandé de travailler par quarts et de faire occasionnellement des heures supplémentaires

Responsabilités

Respecter les procédures dans l’utilisation de l’équipement de fabrication. Les tâches principales du titulaire consistent à contrôler les procédés et les équipements de manière à assurer le respect des paramètres établis et l’acheminement approprié des produits. Signaler les dérogations aux paramètres ou aux lignes directrices des procédés ou des bonnes pratiques de fabrication en vigueur. Nettoyer le local, l’équipement et les lieux conformément aux procédures applicables. Collaborer avec tous les services de l’établissement de Brandon, notamment l’Administration, le Contrôle de la qualité, les Services techniques, les Opérations qualité ainsi que l’Ingénierie et l’Entretien. Contrôler les paramètres d’exploitation et les caractéristiques des produits et procédés à chacune des étapes de la fabrication. Faire immédiatement rapport sur les dérogations aux procédés et participer à la résolution des problèmes techniques avec les autres membres de l’équipe.

Effectuer différents calculs et mesures visuels et autres de manière à s’assurer que tous les aspects des procédés sont conformes aux paramètres. Appliquer les bonnes pratiques de fabrication, notamment consigner toute l’information pertinente dans les registres de fabrication, et veiller à la propreté des lieux et à l’entretien de l’équipement de fabrication. Appliquer les politiques de sécurité et ses connaissances des bonnes pratiques de fabrication dans le cadre des opérations quotidiennes qu’il exécute lui-même ou qui sont exécutées par d’autres membres de l’équipe. Assurer l’entretien préventif courant, les réparations mineures et le dépannage de base de l’équipement de fabrication et des instruments.
