**TOWN OF PONOKA Temporary Full-Time Equipment Operator 2**

The Town of Ponoka is seeking applicants for a full-time temporary Equipment Operator 2 vacancy to work in our Operations Department in the Public Works section.

**Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to**:

- Operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment, engaged in construction and maintenance of roads;
- Perform routine maintenance on storm water drainage systems;
- Compliance with the Town of Ponoka’s Health and Safety Program.
- Perform general laboring and other assigned duties as required.

**To be effective in this role, applicants meet the following qualifications and requirements**:

- Have in depth knowledge and the ability to operate and maintain equipment including, front-end loaders, trucks c/w attachments, tractors, street sweeper, thawing equipment and other maintenance equipment;
- General knowledge of safety rules and regulations;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with the public;
- Able to work flexible hours and during inclement weather;
- Ability to lift approximately 75 lbs, sit for prolonged periods, climb in and out of equipment;
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED;
- Have a minimum of 4 years directly related experience;
- Possess a valid Class 3 operator’s license with air brake endorsement.

**Salary**:As per AUPE agreement the position is compensated at $27.13-$31.45 per hour

**Hours of Work**: the work schedule is dependent on operational needs. The incumbent will be scheduled for forty (40) hours per week and may be required to work day/evening/weekend shifts.
