Job Summary
The Interprofessional Practice Clinical Facilitator role is designed for experienced RNs with frontline experience to provide mentorship and leadership to new graduate and novice nurses to support their transition into the workforce. Types of nurses supported include nursing graduates, novice nurses, nurses transitioning into specialty areas, and internationally educated nurses (IENs) - hereafter referred to as “nurses”.

The HHR funding will continue until at least March 31st, 2024.
Interprofessional Practice Clinical Facilitators are responsible for:

- In collaboration with clinical managers and educators, conduct ongoing learning needs assessments to support identified departmental and individual learning needs relative to improvement opportunities and ensure alignment with corporate and program priorities
- Supporting nursing practice and integration into the clinical area in accordance with organizational and professional standards, alongside the designated mentor and clinical educator.
- Provide leadership, role modeling, clinical coaching, mentoring and the provision of educational activities to enhance knowledge transfer/uptake to achieve quality patient outcomes, staff empowerment and professional development

**Qualifications**:

- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in frontline care in various hospital clinic settings including medicine, surgery, cancer and palliative care or emergency required, and competencies to provide mentorship to newly graduated nurses required
- Excellent clinical, communication and coaching skills and competencies
- Previous experience teaching, working with learners and/or preceptoring/mentoring required
- Safe Management Group (SMG) training required
- Knowledge and expertise with central venous access devices and complex wound care is required
- Being a RNAO BPSO Champion preferred
- Preceptor workshop and/or Formal Mentorship program attendance preferred
- Adult Education certificate an asset
- Demonstrated leadership, change management, problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and ability to recognize hospital-wide perspectives
- Demonstrates understanding of infection prevention and control practices and emergency procedures
- Demonstrates computer literacy working with Microsoft Excel, Office and PowerPoint
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all

Primary Responsibilities

- Maintain regular unit presence to support ongoing education needs and reinforcement of required skills attainment by using a hands-on, real-time approach
