**Reports to**: Community Partnership and Programs Supervisor
**Hours of Work**: Normal working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, seven (7) hours per day. May be required to work varied and additional hours: day, afternoon, evening and weekend hours. Combination of general office environment and occasional off site travel. Attend meetings, conferences and departmental emergency situations, which may be outside of normal business hours.
**Essential Duties**
- Analyze marketing trends and user needs; establish short and long term marketing plans in cooperation with the department staff; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies
- Develop creative, professional and consistent messaging, materials, and graphics for documents, signs, social media, website and promotional items allowing the department to promote its programs and services to the public
- Create, develop and monitor Social Media platforms
- Assist with website management
- Oversee brand management and standards for physical and digital promotional materials
As a member of the respective workgroup:
Library Services
- Liaise with the City’s Communications and Marketing (CAM) staff and other libraries, local media channels, and community partners in the development of marketing opportunities
- Identify new opportunities for marketing and communications to promote Library services and programs
- Collaborate and work with outside vendors for contracted services, as needed
As a member of the team:
- Administer defined procedures and recommend solutions to challenges or process improvements
- Work collaboratively with others to deliver the outcomes as defined; report any challenges to the Supervisor/Manager
- Respond to customer service concerns, investigating, problem solving, and responding within defined processes and advancing to the attention of the Supervisor/Manager as appropriate
- Maintain documentation and or databases and corporate records in accordance with policy and divisional practice; consider legislative municipal requirements such as MFIPPA and AODA
- Contribute to the development of annual program needs
- Provide data or input on processes to allow reporting and decision making
- Perform other related duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience, including: community-oriented marketing/print production; creative graphic design; and coordination of social media and maintenance of website content, preferably in a municipal or not-for-profit environment
- Ability to generate creative and innovative merchandising and/or revenue generation opportunities that meet demonstrated needs in the area
- Effective oral communication and strong interpersonal skills; Excellent written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated customer service skills at a level to develop and maintain cooperative/collaborative working relationships both within and outside the organization
- Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact and maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times, complying with all applicable privacy legislation and local policies and procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, the internet, social media platforms, website/iCreate and any other related software
- Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence or the ability to frequently attend work related activities at various sites within the municipalities or at other sites within Ontario
- Possess and maintain the absence of a Criminal Record. Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search will be required
