Job Title **Payment Coordinator**

Wage $28.35 - $31.15 (2023)

Reports To Program Supervisor, Tenant Services

Department Human Services

Location Lindsay, ON

Hours Normal Working Hours 35 hours per week

Other Combination of general office environment and occasional off-site travel. Attend meetings, conferences and departmental emergency situations, which may be outside of normal business hours

**Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Housing Corporation duties**:

- Prepare monthly rent roll, review, make adjustments as needed, and prepare final posting
- Process and reconcile monthly tenant rent payments and maintain tenant accounts, drawing subsidy payments when applicable
- Manual billing as needed
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies and issues in collaboration with other relevant staff and in a timely manner to prevent financial hardship for tenants and provide a high level of client service to a highly vulnerable tenant population
- Prepare, produce and balance various statistical and accounting reports
- Provide backup for other accounting and financial positions as required

- Administer procedures and recommend resources to achieve strategic objectives
- Complete continuous research and analysis of industry trends to remain knowledgeable in own areas of responsibility
- Manage stakeholder interactions in the supply and receipt of information, analysis, and resolution of issues
- Partner with internal process or program owners to share program objectives, analyze gaps, provide advice on actions to be incorporated in other’s processes
- Manage customer service concerns, investigating, problem solving and responding as appropriate
- Maintain documentation and or databases and corporate records in accordance with policy and divisional practice; consider legislative municipal requirements such as MFIPPA
- Provide data to allow reporting and decision making
- Procure services and goods related to areas of responsibility
- Contribute to the development of annual program needs
- Provide other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Secondary School Diploma with additional education in accounting or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of related progressive experience, preferably in a municipal environment
- Related work experience in a rental housing environment
- Experience working with and the ability to interact sensitively, respectfully, empathetically, and non-judgementally with people with diverse backgrounds; identities; cultural, religious, and personal practices and beliefs; and needs and issues. Some KLH Housing Corp tenants experience poverty, mental illness, trauma, addictions, behavioural issues, financial issues, cognitive impairment, disabilities, and interpersonal issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles with proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Working knowledge and understanding of municipal legislation in relation to the duties assigned
- Effective oral communication and strong interpersonal skills; Excellent written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated customer service skills at a level to develop and maintain cooperative/collaborative working relationships both within and outside the organization
- Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact and maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times, complying with all applicable privacy legislation and local policies and procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet and any other related software
- Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence or the ability to attend to frequently to work related activities at various sites within the municipality or at other sites within Ontario
- Possess and maintain the absence of a Criminal Record. Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check will be required
