Depot Lead Hand, Processing Facilities

Hamilton, Canada GFL Environmental Inc. Full time

GFL Environmental is looking for a part-time Depot Lead Hand at our Barrie, ON facility This position would be working on Saturday's from 7:45 am - 4:45 pm.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Responsible for assisting in the operation of the City of Barrie MHSW Depot
Provide excellent customer service to residents visiting the depot.
Perform physically demanding work.
Identify, sort, and pack waste chemicals into appropriate storage containers.
Maintain clean grounds and facilities
Comply with all rules and regulations to do with operating the depot.
Complete reports of waste stored, received, and shipped from site.
Have good communication skills to deal with City employees, and the public.
Report to and receive authorization from the site Supervisor and MHSW Program Co-Ordinator

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies**:

- Responsible for overall plant safety and assuring that all staff are trained and comply with Health and Safety Policy.
- Assure that all staff and visitors to the plant are wearing the appropriate safety gear when in the plant and have been trained in the correct use.
- Manage staff in a professional and courteous manor.
- Attend safety committee meetings and follow up on action plans.
- Attend meetings at the corporate office as requested.
- Conduct occasional plant tours as requested.
- Report any accident to the Operations Manager immediately.
- Include the filling out of all forms with regards to accident investigations and recommendations.
