Gis/cad Specialist

Calgary, Canada Millennium EMS Solutions Ltd. Full time

To work as part of MEMS Water Resources Services Group to support GIS and CAD requests. The individual is required to provide environmental science interpretation, including the preparation of spatial data, updating databases, and producing GIS or CAD figures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Process aerial drone photography to develop GPS, topographic, cadastral and resource-based data such as ortho-imagery and 3D renderings;
- Process LiDAR, near infrared and other spatial data products for advanced assessment deliverables;
- Prepare sectional elevation drawings of landscapes and construction sites; and preferred (but not mandatory) using script files, calculate volumes for excavations, 3D rendering of facilities and landscapes;
- Prepare deliverables such as plans and maps for oil and gas well sites, gravel pits, mines and industrial facilities in GIS or CAD as appropriate; and
- Analyze, interpret and organize spatial, raster and tabular data to produce data products;
- Other duties as required.

**What You Bring**
- Applicable post-secondary education;
- Two years’ applied experience in GIS and/or AutoCAD drafting of well site, topographic and/or geological drawings.

**Other Skills and Knowledge**
- Excellent cartographic and data management skills using ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil3D;
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro is favorable;
- Experience with Portal for ArcGIS, either with the ArcGIS Pro item or separately with the same qualifier;
- Strong data analysis and detailed skills relating to organization of environmental data;
- Works well independently in a team-oriented environment;
- Strong analytical and technical skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Possesses the following qualities - creativity, high standards, commitment and achievement oriented;
- Able to meet deadlines and work with multiple deadlines;
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and reasoning, and
- Ability to follow through and complete concurrent project tasks.

**Working Conditions**
- Normal office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time;
- Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens;
- Manual dexterity required to use laptop and peripherals;
- Field work to be assigned as required for project specifics;
- Long field working days may be assigned;
- Ability to drive in remote areas and physical exertion may arise;
- Sometimes requires long hours of work; and
- Some travel to other MEMS offices may be required on occasion.
