We are currently looking for a **Manager, Project Controls**, to join our Capital Projects team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Capital Projects, you will be accountable for leading a team of project control professionals in the delivery of the cost, schedule, estimating, contract administration and information management functions for a varied portfolio of Capital Projects.

**Specific Accountabilities include**:

- Accountable for cost, schedule, estimating, contract administration and information management functions with supporting project controls resources as direct reports.
- Continue to work with Capital Projects in developing and implementing the Project Delivery Model (PDM).
- Work with Project Managers and supporting resources to develop specific project decision gate deliverables as part of the Project Delivery Model (PDM) with a focus on cost, schedule, estimates and basis and risk.
- Establish and maintain all project controls interfaces, progress and performance monitoring, cost systems, change management and physical interfaces between Capital Projects and consultants / contractors.
- Lead and coordinate the portfolio monthly reporting in Capital Projects.
- Lead the development of various project controls coding structures, including WBS and CBS following NS Power’s financial reporting requirements.
- Review and verify suitability of contractor’s' project control management plans, procedures, and tools proposed for various projects through.
- Work with contractors to establish project baseline schedules on behalf of the portfolio of projects.
- Ensure contract requirements are met by contractors with respect to schedule management, control, progress measurement and reporting.
- Ensure alignment of contractors’ risk management activities with project expectations.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environment management system processes and initiatives.

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:

- University degree in business, finance, or engineering with a focus on project management.
- 10 years technical experience in various aspects of project management and project controls.
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- A solid understand of project management methodologies.
- Strong computer and data management skills including experience working with project management / costing systems, reporting and presentations.
- Primavera or MS Project software experience.
- Experience with PMWeb project management software will be considered an asset.
- Good knowledge of cost reporting and systems. Familiarity with business management systems such as Oracle and / or SAP.
- Advanced knowledge in the preparation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling of hydro, large scale electrical / heavy industrial projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) would be considered an asset.
