**SITE SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Position Title**:Site Supervisor
**Description**:
Oversee the construction process of the project, including scheduling subcontractors and managing site staff. Responsible for overall construction activities within the established design, budget and scheduling guidelines. Complete quality inspections and supervise all project members, including staff and sub-contractors.
Ensuring all site staff are working together providing a smooth flow of work and communication.
**Reports to**:Director of Construction and Operations
**Duties**:
- Manage site staff
- Oversee day-to-day field activities
- Supervise the activities of subcontractors
- Review drawings and specifications
- Order material
- Schedule trades
- Schedule municipal inspections
- Develop overall project schedule in conjunction with other departments
- Follow up with trades and suppliers
- Walkthrough all units and check for quality control
- Ensure accuracy of construction compared to drawings, scope, details and specifications
- Prepare and maintain site operations budget
- Approval of site invoices
- Review and provide input toward current state of site equipment
- Assist in establishing unit closing protocol
- Ensure high standards during customer interactions
- Maintain adequate relationships with all trades and suppliers
- Manage trade related issues with the support of head office as needed
- Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety Act and site-specific requirements
- Update construction schedule and provide completions
- Maintain constant communication with head office staff as it relates to deviations from drawings, safety concerns, trade, and material issues
- Other duties as required
**Accountability**:
- Ensuring units are progressing and closing as per schedule
- Maintaining site operations budget
- Responsible for site staff and labour force attendance
- In charge of site safety at all times
- Ensuring proper communication on site with trades, suppliers, labourers, and other site staff
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years experience or full cycle of low-rise residential construction
- Understanding of Ontario Building Code
- Ability to create and track schedules and reports as required
- Certificate or Degree in construction management is an asset
- Knowledge of Tarion Construction Standards shall be an asset
- Possess all skills and general knowledge of typical dimensions/sizing requirements required to perform material take-offs: rough framing, doors, windows, jams, cladding, trim, fixtures and appliances
- Possess understanding of project timing, logistics of completing work on a day-to-day basis
- Leadership and management experience and/or course certifications shall be an asset
