**Your Opportunity**:
The Instructor-Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for providing and facilitating education including various site requirements for the interdisciplinary teams at the Strathcona Community Hospital and Northeast Community Health Centre, including Emergency Department and Ambulatory Clinics. In collaboration with Managers, the interprofessional team and the Suburban Hospitals Edmonton Zone, the CNE acts as a resource for unit orientation and continuing education and supports the achievement and maintenance of clinical competencies and standards of practice. The focus of the role is dependent on the vision of the programs, the educational needs and practice requirements of these areas.

**Description**:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). **Additional Required Qualifications**:
Bachelor degree in nursing. Previous teaching experience. Minimum of 5 years acute nursing experience required. Minimum of 3 years Emergency Department nursing experience including Pediatric Care, Trauma, Charge and Triage required. Excellent clinical knowledge of Emergency Department processes and procedures required. Current experience in and excellent knowledge and understanding of Connect Care required. Ambulatory care experience, with demonstrated understanding of clinic processes and procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Excellent leadership skills required. CTAS certification required. CTAS instructor or willingness to obtain certification required. ACLS provider required, or willingness to obtain. ACLS Instructor certification an asset.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Provider and/or Instructor and/or willingness to obtain certification in TNCC, PALS, NRP, ENPC, PEARS an asset. Change management skills and education. Emergency Nursing certification an asset. EPICC instructor an asset. Excellent knowledge of ambulatory clinic processes and procedures an asset.
