Sea Power Marine Centre is a boat service, repair, and parts company that has been operating in Sidney for over 45 years. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding, reliable service to our customers and we believe in not only powering boats but also empowering boaters.

With two locations and a sister company, Sea Power has 30 employees ranging from marine technicians to office staff. The Service Writer will work alongside other office staff at our Harbour Road location at Van Isle Marina.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing service requests, communicating with customers, scheduling appointments, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Previous experience in customer service and the marine industry is preferred.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Interact with customers, listen to their questions and concerns, and provide timely and accurate responses.
- Educate and sell customers on dealing with Sea Power and Clear Marine (our sister company) products and services.
- Schedule appointments, take orders, monitor service progress, calculate charges, and assist accounting in processing payments.
- Ensure that all details of requested work tasks are clearly laid out on the customer’s work order.
- Clearly communicate the financial implications of requests to customers and the service department.
- Identify and communicate payment methods clearly to customers.
- Communicate job/task requirements to the service management team.
- Review customer accounts and report changes to internal staff.
- Work with the purchaser to ensure that materials are arriving within expectations.
- Maintain communication with the customer throughout the duration of the work.
- Manage complaints and resolve customer grievances in a timely and effective manner.
- Review final invoices with the customer to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.
- Serve as a customer relationship manager, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
- Act as a liaison between customers and different departments within the organization to ensure smooth service delivery.

- Education and Experience: _
- Education using Microsoft Suite is an asset.
- Technical:_
- Confidently use a computer and learn about new programs and service systems.
- Excellent proficiency in Google Suite.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft suite - especially Excel.
- Experience in Quickbooks is an asset.
- Customer Support and Communication Skills:_
- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and clients
- General Skills:_
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to learn of the marine industry.
- Capacity to adapt and learn quickly in a fast paced environment.
