**Product Owner/ Scrum Master Job Description**

Division: _Digital Transformation_

**Job Type**: _Contract_

Expected Start: _Aug, 2023_

Initial term: _6 Months + Potential Extension_

**You'll do the following as Product Owner / Scrum Master**:

- Incorporate feature requests into product roadmap, set goals, plan releases, follow progress, address issues, and act as the gatekeeper to the Development Team
- Create strong relationships with other BSA team members, scrum teams, Architecture, DevOps, RTE and business stakeholders.
- Drives alignment with the Agile ways of working and supports successful implementation of Agile practices, between dependent teams, while embedding the mindset via coaching, facilitation, training, and artefact development.
- Provides coaching, mentoring, teaching, and training around Agile and Scrum concepts, including the principles, values, and the “why” behind agility.
- Establishes agile best practices and working agreements when coordinating the delivery of a shippable product between feature teams and component teams.
- Contributes to the implementation of a flexible agile framework that adapts to changes in the business environment
Supports iteration execution.
- Acts as a catalyst for change, to achieve continuous improvement, with quality at the forefront of their development.
- Participate in the discovery and prioritization of Initiatives and Epics and break them down into manageable user stories.
- Gather and provide estimates and forecasts to project PM.
- Conduct JAD and white board sessions with multiple SMEs to brainstorm the solution.
- Conduct project review sessions, obtain sign offs, and coordinate acceptance tests to ensure timely delivery of requirements.

**Supports the team**:

- Facilitates and conducts effective events and empowers the teams to become self-managing
- Shares responsibility for the teams overall performance
- Provides support to the team and leads by example, embodying the essence of Scrum and Agile methodologies
- Facilitates discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution, including managing dependencies with teams that have not yet adopted Agile
- Assists in internal and external communication, enhancing transparency and sharing information openly
- Removes impediments if teams are blocked from progressing in their commitments during the Sprint

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related area
- 3 to 5 years’ of progressive experience in a project management, Product owner and/or as Scrum Master
- 2 to 3 years’ experience or demonstrated knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / Product Owner Certification
- Project Management certification, PMP, APM, or equivalent
- Experience in Agile, SAFe or related methodologies, including PI Planning and Scrum of Scrum ceremonies
- Release Train Engineer (RTE) experience is an asset
- Experience managing third-party vendors
- Servant leader, working directly with developers and development teams
- Ability to constructively navigate conflict
- Active and excellent listener
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, Aha, and other product and project management tools

Excellent communication skills (Oral & Written)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $75.00-$90.00 per hour
