**Job Title: Part-Time Barista**

**Location**: Orillia, Ontario

**Hours**: 20-30 hours per week

**Wage**: $22.75 per hour

**Role Summary**: As a Barista at Redwood Park Communities' café, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. You will be responsible for preparing and serving various beverages and snacks while providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, you will act as an ambassador for our hopeful housing initiatives, sharing our mission with the community.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:

- Greet customers warmly and take their orders.
- Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.

**Beverage and Food Preparation**:

- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to standard recipes.
- Ensure all food items are prepared and presented according to established guidelines.

**Point of Sale Operation**:

- Accurately handle money, operate the point of sale system (POS), and process transactions.
- Maintain a balanced cash register and reconcile daily sales.

**Food Safety and Hygiene**:

- Adhere to all food handling and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the café area, including equipment and utensils.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

**Community Engagement**:

- Serve as an ambassador for Redwood Park Communities and our hopeful housing initiatives.
- Educate customers about our mission and encourage community support.
- Participate in community events and initiatives as needed.

**Physical Demands**:

- Stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

**Desirable Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a café or similar environment.
- Proficiency in handling money and operating a POS system.
- Catering experience is desired but not required.
- Standard First Aid/CPR-C, Smartserve and safe food handling certification is desirable or willingness to be trained.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Passion for community engagement and social causes.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Lives in Ontario and is able to start work mid-September, in-person.
