**Summary of Position**

Links2Care is looking for a Full Time Parent Resources Navigator to work 35 hours a week. This position is located out of Georgetown and reports to the Supervisor, EarlyON Child and Family Centre’s.
The Parent Resource Navigator will support children and families in Halton Hills by facilitating meaningful connections with families and visitors as the first point of contact. In addition, the Parent Resource Navigator will support children and families and individuals by navigating the Early Learning and Childcare system, services of Links2Care and to a broader community.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Works with children and families with needs often related to the social determinants of health, including connecting families to child development services, childcare services, parenting supports and access to social and health care services that may include supports for infant/child mental health.
- Makes referrals to other service providers and programs as appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with others as part of the Program Team, a community of support that may include internal and external resources.
- Coordinates and navigates systems that will support the child/children and family’s well-being.
- Working closely with L2C children’s programs and respond to inquiries/supports for children 0-6 year of age throughout programs.
- Responsible for all social media posts (FB & Instagram) for Childrens Programs (EO & SA)
- Responsible for scheduling and managing monthly Community Corner Speakers for EO sites
- Responsible for Links2Care Children’s community outreach initiatives and its coordination of support.
- Responsible for Parent Resource Library
- Enhances parenting skills by facilitating parent/caregiver education programs.
- Responsible for documentation of supports provided to families and child including statistics collection and recording using Alayacare software.
- Provides information and resources about programs and services available throughout Halton.
- Ensures principles of Health Equity are used when interacting with children, families and service partners.
- Actively listens, providing non-judgmental support to clients for self-directed decision making and choice.
- Participates in the broader Links2Care and EarlyON Child and Family Centre team by attending general staff/team meetings, community events, fundraising events and marketing of programs.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
- Other Administrative duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Family Support Program (preferred), Social Work, Community Development, or other related field combined with a minimum 1-2 years relevant experiences working with children and families.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills and written skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assess with good judgment and instinct in understanding and supporting vulnerable populations and the needs of clients.
- Thorough understanding and awareness of issues impacting children and families including child development, parenting, and infant/child mental health.
- Sound knowledge of community resources and programs available to children and families in Halton. Knowledge of the programs and services provided by Links2Care is an asset.
- Knowledge of the How Does Learning pedagogy.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Tact, discretion, honesty, and ability to develop positive relationships with seniors and adults with disabilities.
- Ability to safeguard and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries and work within a defined scope of service.
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
- Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen prior to and throughout employment as requested by Links2Care is required.
- Employees who drive on behalf of Links2Care for work related purposes must possess and provide proof of a valid Ontario driver’s license and a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance on their vehicle.

**Hours of Work**
- 35 hours per week
- Able to work within a flexible framework. Hours of work may vary, but generally within 8:30 - 4:00 with occasional evenings and weekends.
