**Position Summary**:
This course looks at Indigenous child welfare in Canada and the strengths of Indigenous children and family systems. Students will explore the meaning of childhood within various Indigenous cultures, will examine colonial disruptions to Indigenous family systems through the residential school and state child welfare systems, and will learn about the resistance, resilience and recovery successes of Indigenous peoples toward Indigenous family well-being.

**Qualifications - Other**:Preference will be given to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) people who are accountable to, and have strong ties with, Indigenous communities, and who can clearly articulate their pedagogy for mobilizing FNMI knowledge.
