**The Role**:
As the Category Manager, Proprietary Beverages, you will be responsible for delivering a truly differentiated, market-leading offer with the right range, assortment, and market-leading pricing architecture of categories. You will focus on actionable category and shopper insights that deliver differentiated CVP for our customers, drive increased business performance for Shell, and create a competitive advantage that enhances the company’s performance within the Convenience and Gas channel.

This position will oversee both Hot and Cold proprietary drinks, site-level supplies, and ATMs.

The Category Manager’s responsibilities include:

- Develop differentiated category strategies and business plans in line with Shell Canada’s Mobility Vision and CR’s strategy
- Utilize professional Category Management principles to develop robust category plans covering Range, Promotions, Marketing, and Merchandising concepts, and set business targets, measurable objectives, and tactics
- Design robust marketing plans that provide Shell with a competitive edge in unique & differentiated customer value propositions
- Build strong partnerships with leading product manufacturers and suppliers to secure the most favorable integrated value for Shell, our retail partners, vendor partners, and our customers
- Deliver year-on-year integrated growth (organic and new) in sales, margin, and income
- Identify, establish, and develop key business plans and detailed P&L impact in support of new growth and optimization opportunities
- Develop and implement a product management and merchandising plan: periodic range management reviews with input from the sales team, suppliers, industry & trade research, and BIC merchandising principles (planograms, pricing and promotions)
- Transfer best practices regionally, nationally, and globally where applicable
- Develop and implement operational standards to build the right skills/capabilities to deliver operational excellence
- Support delivery of the agreed targets (financial and HSSE targets)

**Skills & Requirements**
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role; category and retail experience are required
- Ability to translate vision into a coherent plan of action
- Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to maximize value
- Excellent project management skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in any related discipline
- Must have legal authorization to work in the Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
