Owned and operated by Community Living Toronto, Shadow Lake is a bustling summer home-away-from-home for over 500 guests with special needs and over 80 staff members.

We are currently seeking a **Healthcare Staff** member.

**Responsibilities**:
Healthcare staff report to the Healthcare Coordinator. They are responsible for the administration of medications, and providing first-aid as required. They confirm medicals prior to guests arriving at camp, and are a main point of contact for families and caregivers.
- Passing Community Living Medication Administration training
- Pouring, dispensing, and administering medication
- Enforcing and upholding CLT policies and SLC Policies
- Performing first aid when needed on staff or participants
- Communicating with families and caregivers (confirming medical information before they arrive, calling home for any questions/clarifications, contacting in the event of an emergency)
- Follow-through on documentation completion once medication is administered (Signing off on MAR, narcotic sheet, PRN record, etc.)
- Ensure staff are completing incident reports, support in the writing of them.
- Ensure any other CLT documentation regarding medications is completed before end of shift.
- Ensuring medication is locked up appropriately, that the healthcare centre remains clean and organized
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, family and caregivers to ensure the health and safety of our guests
- Intervening in medical emergencies
- Assisting in running training week and ongoing training

Requirement:

- RPN, RN, or Nursing Student (or student in related field/2+ years at Shadow Lake Centre), First Aid/CPR Certified

Experience in working with people with disabilities is beneficial but not required. We provide skill-building and training opportunities and are always looking for enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated staff.

Prior to the first day of camp, all staff participate in a week-long training program, and on-line orientation. Everyone is required to obtain a police check prior to starting work.

CLTO will comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and provide accommodation up to the point of undue hardship to the organization to any Prospective Staff, Staff and Essential Visitor who is unable to be vaccinated for substantiated medical or religious reasons.
