Kitchen Hand/cook

We are looking for an energetic but experienced line cook to join our kitchen team
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Prepare, cook and serve food in accordance with standards, directions and instructions from the Executive Chef.
- Work in a fast, safe and efficient manner especially during service times so as to achieve consistently high food quality.
- Comply with kitchen procedures, recipes, prep sheets, cleaning schedules and all other duties required to work in an efficient kitchen.
- Assist as required with receiving deliveries.
- Maintain all food items at the approved temperature to prevent contamination or health risks.
- Ensure all equipment is turned off, cleaned, sanitized and locked at the end of each shift
- Other duties as requested
**Job Requirements**:
- Must have food handler's certificate
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge in operating fryers, grills, ovens and other industrial equipment is an asset.
- Proper knife skills are an asset.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Ability to provide maintain a professional demeanor.
- Previous experience in the Culinary field is an asset.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
**Experience**:
- Culinary: 2 years (required)
- Line cook: 1 year (preferred)

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
**Experience**:
- cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooks: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
