Manufacturing Process Specialist

**Job Title**:Manufacturing Process Specialist
**Reporting to**:Applied Engineering Manager
**Role Definition**:
The Manufacturing Process Specialist will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and interface with all departments to document the manufacturing process, select equipment and tooling, and identify improvement opportunities. Through process documentation, the Process Specialist must ensure the adequate process controls have been implemented and are perfectly aligned with related industry standards and customer requirements. As part of the Applied Engineering team, the specialist plays a vital role in all manufacturing and continuous improvement opportunities.
**Responsibilities**:
- Define manufacturing processes (cutting, kitting, assembly, quality inspections, etc.) and generate associated work instructions;
- Develop and implement process controls through digital work instructions
- Act as main administrator of the digital works instruction software
- Train and coach new employees
- Maintain software integrity, databases and their links with the digital platforms
- Ensure the production process advances according to procedures and intervene with modifications if necessary;
- Identify and analyze process improvements;
- Integrate new technologies that will bring a direct impact on process speed and stability;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of production processes and cost reduction;
- Identify tooling needs;
- Identify health and safety guidelines to ensure sound workplace ergonomics;
- Provide technical support to production as required;
- Develop and maintain a database of the parts, documentation, and processes;
- Participate in developing employee training materials and department SOPs;
- Other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- Technical diploma in manufacturing, engineering, assembly or other relevant training;
- 1 - 3 years of experience;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Knowledge of CAD software a strong asset (Catia, Solidworks or Fusion 360);
- Lean and 5S experience preferred;
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills (oral and written);
- You are a self-motivated person, a team player able to work under pressure and under a minimum of supervision;
- Solid organization skills with attention to detail;
- Excellent documenting abilities;
- You are a person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility, and good critical judgment to be able to meet due dates and respect project milestones;
- You understand complex issues and are innovative in problem solving.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Casual
