The Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of 7 dispatchers. Establish work schedules and procedures, Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments, Prepare and submit reports. Ensuring compliance with government rules and regulations managing internal staff performance, conduct performance reviews, Co-ordinate, assign and review work, Plan, organize and oversee the operational logistics to meet her company’s objectives.

**Responsibilities/Job Duties**:

- Manage team and support the planning of pickups and deliveries to ensure on-time delivery
- Establishes proactive communication with drivers and team for better planning
- Manage the day-to-day operations in the Dispatch Department
- Planning and forecasting of driver schedules
- Dispatching functions to company Drivers, 3rd Party Carriers and Owner/Operators
- Ensuring systems and processes are in place, monitoring expenses and billing
- Manages the capacity of the fleet assigned
- Check the availability of drivers, trucks, and trailers
- Make sure to take/make nots in the system of all information relevant to pickups and deliveries
- Carries out methodical monitoring of drivers and equipment to maximize their use / limit waiting time
- Verification of the routes of each driver to plan departures and destinations
- Verification of permits validity
- Resolve work related problems
- Demonstrates respect and fairness in dealing with drivers
- Suggests and implements new ideas or ways of improving performance
- Adapts to changes in customer requests / makes last minute changes (e.g., redirecting trips)
- Revise its planning to consider the unexpected having arisen
- Notify customers of problems, delays, and others.
- Collaborate with the Customer Services team
- Ensure Drivers and Carriers follow Company Safety Policies and Procedures for example: HOS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, etc.
- Ensure that service levels meet and or exceed the needs of our customers
- Review operational efficiencies and effect change as necessary to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and cost efficiencies.
- Recommend, implement, and maintain performance and productivity measurements
- Notify your sector manager when abnormal situations arise at the operational or customer levels

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Knowledge of High traffic Act
- Very good geographic knowledge appropriate to the region (s) concerned

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years dispatching experience within the transportation industry.
- 3+ years in a supervisory/ leadership role.
- Completed minimum post secondary education.
- Broad understanding of Truck transport operations and willingness to put knowledge to use
- Able and willing to work all shifts and or schedule (Monday to Friday, weekends, long weekend, and Holidays) when required.
- Computer proficient: MS Office (Excel & Outlook); ERP system: SAP, TMW an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
