**Role Overview**:
We are seeking a highly motivated Manager to lead our City teams in Vancouver. This position will be responsible for overseeing all local staff (Research & Outreach Coordinator and Research & Outreach Assistants). The City Manager will be responsible for ensuring program development, problem solving, community partnership building and implementation of activities on a city level.

**Open**: You are someone who is social and able to build relationships with the diverse Youthful Cities stakeholders, as well as those you will build organizational relationships with. You appreciate that everyone will bring a unique perspective, being respectful and open-minded to new ideas.

**Dynamic**: Cities are constantly evolving and changing, so you will need to as well. The data drives our work, so you must have a forward-thinking perspective to adapt programming to better meet the needs of the time.

**Inventive**: You are someone who is focused on cities, who is creative and interested in invention. You are full of ideas for what a great city looks like.

**Curious**: As you will be overseeing seeing the team that is using data and researching the Canadian cities, you are curious to ask the right questions and explore the city and the insights from the data further. Ideally, you have demonstrated experience with this.

**Playful**: You are enthusiastic about building Canadian cities. Whilst directing the team, you are able to demonstrate excitement and playfulness to mobilize a diverse team and communicate with them. Your sense of wonder and playfulness will be highly valued here.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals on a local city level
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners on a municipal level
- Ensuring project reflects the needs and interests of youth on a city level and effectively engages equity seeking communities including youth from Indigenous, newcomer, racialized and LGBT2S communities
- Oversee all operations of Youthful Cities in the city including team management, financial management, and program implementation
- Represent Youthful Cities to external stakeholders, including partners, donors, and the media on a city level
- As part of the national team, ensuring that local activities are consistent with national objectives and supporting national strategies
- Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets, research partners and local stakeholders to increase visibility and awareness of the organization
- Host meetings and dialogues with the young people in the city and organizing a major summit or conference with local young people in the city
- Ability to coach, motivate and supervise a staff team comprised of young people

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years proven experience in a supervisory role with young people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity and ability to work effectively with equity seeking communities including Indigenous, newcomer, racialized and LGBT2S communities
- Strong intercultural communication skills and demonstrated experience working across language and ethno-cultural barriers
- Problem solver who can think critically and anticipate and respond to potential project challenges
- French and English bilingualism (written and spoken) is a strong asset; fluency in other languages is an asset
