**POSITION: New Horizons Spanish-Speaking Seniors Community Connect Facilitator**
**PROGRAM: Senior’s Coordinator**
**WORK HOURS: 5 hrs/week**
**RATE OF PAY: $22.00/hr.**

**Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre** is an accredited, non-profit organization providing support services to residents of Mississauga including newcomers to Canada, youth, seniors, and families.

**JOB SUMMARY**: The Spanish-speaking Senior’s Community Connect facilitator will develop and facilitate weekly sessions for Spanish-speaking older adults where participants can interact, learn and practice skills, share knowledge, offer peer support, benefit from workshops on a variety of healthy ageing topics, and build their leadership capacity.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Network with the community and the Senior’s Coordinator to recruit participants
- Provide publicity, promotion, and community outreach related to the project
- Design and facilitate weekly sessions on a variety of topics for project participants
- Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and anti-biased environment for project participants
- Ensure accurate program documentation and statistics as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Proficient in Spanish verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate information sessions for older adults
- Experience in group facilitation
- Experience working with older adults is an asset
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team environment, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, practicum students, and volunteers
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Critical thinking, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom and able to learn new technologies and platforms quickly
- Mandatory police check - completed within the last six months

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 5 per week

**Salary**: $22.00 per hour

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
