Our mission Wonderhub brings children and families together to create, learn, play, and explore without boundaries. Job purpose Reporting to the Visitor Experience Coordinator, the Shift Supervisor is a leader on the Visitor Experience team and first point of contact for all Visitor Experience Team Members (VETM) on shift. Shift Supervisors are are responsible for carrying out the responsibility of their VETM role (opening and closing the Museum, handling admissions and gift shop counters, maintaining exhibit spaces during open hours, cleaning spaces as needed and at end of day, helping visitors to navigate the Museum and exhibits, promoting programs and memberships, and assisting with bookings and reservations) with the additional responsibility of ensuring all staff duties (opening, maintaining, closing) for each shift are completed, assigning small projects or additional duties as directed by management and assisting with customer relations.

Qualifications: Visitor Experience Team Leaders will have experience in customer service, retail, POS use, cash handling and cleaning. They are people oriented, adhere to policies and procedures, can work independently and in a team dynamic, and are able to communicate well with other staff as well as visitors, volunteers and stakeholders. They demonstrate positive leadership and are a key piece of the Wonderhub team that assists in the building of our operational culture and level of service. These individuals support a kind, diverse and inclusive environment; a commitment to the positive growth and development of children; the ability to lead with problem solving; take initiative; are sensitive to accessibility and inclusion barriers for marginalized children and families.

Duties and responsibilities:
Working conditions :Part-Time, typically 15-20 hours per week. This position works weekdays, weekends, occasional evenings or holidays that the museum is open to the public. Availability must include a minimum of one open and one close shift per week, weekends, and flexibility to cover other supervisors when required.

This position is located at Nutrien Wonderhub (950 Spadina Cres. E. Saskatoon, SK). Hourly Wage: $18 Start Date: September 1st, 2023

This position requires working with the following equipment: POS system, computer, debit machine. The operating environment is such that staff may be required to work extra hours to meet the needs of the organization. While staff need to be flexible in their work schedules, Nutrien Wonderhub is committed to providing appropriate time-in-lieu and/or compensation. We work with children to promote a sense of discovery, creativity and exploration both indoors and outside. This sometimes involves facilitating fun in hot, cold, light, dark, quiet and loud environments. This position also typically involves sitting, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling and standing for periods.
