Armtec has the following career opportunity in their new, state of the art facility in **Tillsonburg, ON**:
**YARD SUPERVISOR**
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Yard Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the yard. This role supervises, supports and trains yard team members in the areas of loading/unloading, health and safety, and quality control. The Yard Supervisor coordinates daily requirements based on the production plan set by the Regional Manager or designate.
**Principal Accountabilities**:
- Leads, guides, supervises, and motivates team members in the performance of the function of the yard.
- Assign work, ensuring that the workload is evenly distributed to the team, and allows everything to be completed on time to meet customer demand.
- Ensures all outgoing shipments are accurate.
- Coordinates daily yard activities with team members to provide superior customer service.
- Verifies shipping and receiving documents are being filled out correctly and completely according to HSE and QC standards.
- Manages yard priorities and performance measures, provides regular progress to Manager.
- Ensures equipment is working efficiently and materials/ product entering and leaving the yard meets required quality standards.
- Ensures the maintenance and cleanliness of yard with the support of team based on the housekeeping policy in place.
- Complies with and leads by example for all Company Health and Safety policies, procedures, practices and legislative standards.
**Education & Knowledge**:
- Grade 12 diploma or GED.
- Post-secondary education in a related trade is preferred.
- Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, with a proven ability to lead and mentor.
- In-depth knowledge of yard operations in drainage or related industry, preferred.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid organizational and time and priority management on a daily basis.
- Efficient, reliable with attention to detail. All work is completed with care to ensure quality.
- A self-starter including initiative and self-confidence for leadership and self-motivation purposes.
- Works in a logical, systematic manner to accomplish day to day work activities.
- Experience working within a unionized environment.
