Your role:
CBC has an amazing opportunity for you to join our Current Affairs Radio team in Winnipeg. As an Associate Producer you will have a role both in creating journalistic content for the radio programs as well as operating the sound board during the live show.

If you’re an energetic, disciplined, creative and innovative individual who thrives on building new things; if you understand the use of sound and have great technical audio abilities; if you are passionate about storytelling and sharing your content across multiple platforms; if you are deeply connected to the diverse neighbourhoods, people, business and culture that make up Manitoba; if you embrace the potential of social media, digital and above all chasing good stories, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you- A passion, knowledge, and understanding of Manitoba and its diversity of communities- In-depth knowledge of local and national news- A good writer- Excellent production skills including operation of sound board during live programming- Knowledge of the Manitoba music scene; experience with music programming- a sense of curiosity about the workings of analog and digital audio systems - interest in expanding technical knowledge- comfortable with the basics of audio signal flow in a studio environment- strong logic and problem-solving skills- fundamental understanding of and experience with basic audio tools such as microphones, signal metres, EQ, digital audio recording devices, etc.- creative audio mixing skills are an asset (musician, mixing podcasts, home or studio recording experience, DJ'ing etc.)- Must have the ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently, and meet deadlines- Innovative, flexible and calm under pressure- Takes direction well, works cooperatively but also a self-starter- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Comfortable interacting and presenting material live on-air- Innovative, with proven ability to use sound creatively- Open to new ideas and approaches- An understanding that you are working for a journalistic organization, which requires flexibility in shifts including early mornings, evening and weekend work- Job requires a university degree or equivalent- Job requires experience which is directly related to editorial chase and/or technical operations.
