**Canlan Ice Sports** is currently looking for an **Event Host.**

**Rate of pay**:$16.75-$17.

**Job Summary**:
Canlan Sportsplex is currently looking for an Event Host.

Reporting to the Community and Events Coordinator, the Event Host provides customer service through the implementation of hosting individual birthday parties, facilitating public skating nights, and aiding in other events throughout the facility. The Event Host position plays an integral role in providing our guests with a memorable experience and functions as the direct link between our guests and facility management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the Events team for Special Events/Birthday Parties as requested.
- Able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
- Work independently as a member of our customer service team.
- Well informed about our birthday packages, special event packages, and program information.
- Maintain a tidy, organized and safe work environment
- Supervise birthday party participants to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Greeting of the party, lead party room activities including food, beverage and gifts.
- Setup and teardown including cleaning of birthday party room as directed.
- Miscellaneous other duties as required

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Enjoy working with the public in a customer service role, in all age/demographic groups
- Interested in working in an environment which is fast paced and always changing
- Adaptable and able to communicate effectively with both customers and staff
- Experience in sport is an asset

**Experience and education**:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
- Must be thorough, organized, articulate and punctual
- Must work well under pressure and pay particular attention to details
- Ability to work flexible schedules, primarily evenings & weekends, possibly early AM shifts for groups
- Criminal background check is required
