The position of Resident Assistant will commit to incorporate our mission, vision, and our values, which are Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decision-making.
With functional support, guidance and supervision provided by the Site Manager, the Resident Assistant carry out hospitality and personal care services as outlined by Covenant Living Policies and Procedures. In the absence of Covenant Living policy, Covenant Care policies and procedures will be followed. Work often involves front line contact with residents, visitors, and staff requiring active problem solving, compassion and effective interpersonal skills.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Ensures individual resident needs and preferences are addressed in regards to hospitality and personal services.
- Responds to scheduled and unscheduled service requests from residents for assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, medication management, housekeeping and meal management.
- Follows the tenant Service Plan and Managed Risk Agreement when delivering personal care and hospitality services.
- Attends to requests for tenant companionship to reduce or prevent social isolation or to respond to changes in tenant health and functional status.
- Reports changes in functional capacity, mood or health status to the Site Manager or designate.
- Participates in tenant review meetings at the call of the Site Manager/delegate.
- Performs delegated tasks in support of tenant personal care after completion of tenant specific training.

2. Ensures a sanitary working and production environment in accordance with accepted practices and Covenant Living standards
3. Performs clerical duties including, but not limited to updating resident census, service requests, guest meal tracking and communication logs
4. Assists in tours of the site
5. Ensures all Covenant Living policies are adhered to
6. Participates in program planning and evaluation and in Quality Improvement activities.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Resident Assistant perform a variety of customer service duties including providing 24-hour assistance to residents and guests, responding to inquiries/concerns, and administrative duties. The overall focus of the position is resident satisfaction and continual improvement of services and amenities.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
This position requires the ability to follow direction and confidentially work within the policies, procedures and the vision, mission and core values of Covenant Living to ensure a consistent standard is upheld across all locations.

Continuous certification in First Aid and CPR are required.
